Association Statement of Purpose

To enhance and promote friendship among the illustrious Distinguished Alumni, and to honor and express appreciation to those members for furthering the principles and practices of The Original Waldorf Astoria throughout the world, specifically those of service, integrity, excellence, and leadership.

The Waldorf Astoria New York salutes its prominent alumni – those who have achieved fame and success in the hospitality industry through the traditions and principles of this world-renowned hotel.

~Select Alumni who meet these guidelines set forth by an impartial committee will be invited to become a Distinguished Alumni member.~

Association Guidelines

  • The applicant should have served in the employ, or as a trainee, of The Waldorf Astoria New York for a minimum of 12 months.

  • The applicant will have attained the position of General Manager, Corporate Officer (VP and above), or owner of a luxury enterprise in the hospitality field and should have retained such responsibility for a minimum of 2 years.

  • Applicants should have held the above executive post in a hotel of no less than 100 rooms, however, this requirement may be waived if the hotel is recognized as an outstanding property in its category.

  • At least one association meeting is held annually, typically in early November around the time of the hotel exposition at the Javits Convention Center in NYC. Your participation is greatly encouraged.

  • In order to cover the costs of preparing diplomas, printing, online presence, etc., a one-time initiation fee, as well as nominal annual dues, will be assessed.
